Pet Rock Lab ยท petrocklab.com and the Android app

Last changed October 25, 2026

Pet Rock Lab is a small game made by one person, Brute (brutedeity). It keeps as little about you as it can, never sells it, and shows no ads.

If you just look around

Nothing about you is kept on our side: what you pick and your settings stay in your browser or the app. Adopting a rock takes a free account (below).

If you make an account

Your account name, your rocks and their pictures are public: friends see them, and your shelf has its own page (petrocklab.com/@yourname).

Weather

The game can show your real weather. For that, our server sends a rough location (worked out from your internet address, rounded to about 50 km) to Open-Meteo, a free weather service. Your location is not stored. You can pick your own weather in Settings instead.

Walks (Android app)

The app counts steps with your phone's step counter while a walk is on, and sends the number of steps (not where you walked) to your account for coins and rewards. It never uses your location.

Notifications

If you turn them on, we keep the address your browser or phone gives us for sending notes (like a friend asking for a playdate), and delete it when you turn them off or delete your account.

Buying things

Purchases on the website are handled by Stripe, and in the Android app by Google Play. They take your payment details; we never see your card. We keep a record of what was bought, when, and for which account, as the law requires for sales.

Counting visits

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you around the internet.

If you came in on one of our ad links (like petrocklab.com/?from=meta-haspet), your browser remembers which link, and tells us once each when you make an account, adopt your first rock and come back another day. We keep only the totals for each link, never who.

Contact us

Settings → Contact us sends Brute your message, your account name if you're signed in, a screenshot if you add one, how to reach you if you give it, and which screen you were on with your device type (to help fix problems). Messages are deleted once they're dealt with.

Kids

Pet Rock Lab is for everyone, but it isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child under 13 made an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Deleting everything

Settings → Account → Delete my account removes your account, rocks and game, and your name from your friends' lists. Your name can't be taken by anyone else for 60 days after. Records of purchases are kept for accounting.
